In "Elephants and Hens," episode #2 of Black Books series 3, Fran brings to
a hen party about 15 bottles of wine and what looks like a 2-liter bottle
of a pale brown liquid named "Life Cry," with a picture on the label of a
polar bear standing erect with a bloodstain on one hind leg. She says
something like "You know you're going to have a good time when there's a
bleeding polar bear on the label."
What is that stuff? I realize there may not be a real drink called Life
Cry, but is it supposed to resemble an actual drink, maybe used chiefly by
undergrads looking for a cheap drunk (they reminisce about how long it's
been since they last saw it)? The only thing I could think of was
Jaegermeister with the stag on the label, but I think that must be a bit
too far-fetched. Any ideas?
